Sandra Perez Gluschankoff "Franzisca's Box" An Interview with Sandra Perez Gluschankoff by Jason E. Foss

                                                                    SANDRA PEREZ GLUSCHANKOFF

"Great Authors have a way of looking beyond thoughts of our own possible limitations and they create stories that inspire us to believe we can do more.  We can be more.  Their books give us an Adventure and a story that makes us feel appreciation for our own Journeys.  When we close their book we feel like we are ready to succeed in so much more of our own aspirations.  We begin to believe we can rise above what once felt like obstacles as they are now our goals to accomplish.  Sandra Perez Gluschankoff is one of those great Authors.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                                              Jason E. Foss

Jason:                     "What motivated you to write "Franzisca's Box?"

Sandra:

"The “write what you know” is a must for me when embarking on a writing project. As the granddaughter of WWII survivors, I have filled this historical novel with the many stories I’ve heard during my childhood. Many others I created to fill in the blanks of tales left untold. For this novel, it was my Romanian grandmother who inspired me to create the character of Claudia Lazar and ultimately write Franzisca’s Box. Although I knew of my grandparents' plight to escape the grasp of the Bolshevik invasion in Romania after the fall of the Nazis, and all the difficulties they faced when, with a new-born baby—my mother—they were denied entrance in Argentina because of being Jews, I didn’t know much about my grandmother and what had turned her into the commanding, tight-lipped, stoic, and the impenetrable mystery she was.  In my mind there was no doubt she harboured secrets, many secrets, and thus Franzisca was created."

Jason:                         "What characteristic of Sofia can you relate to the most and why?"

Sandra:

"We have many things in common with Sofia. She is inquisitive, impulsive, speaks her mind, and is not afraid to learn the truth even if that means her world could crumble down at her feet without a moment’s notice."

"Just like Sofia, I was born and raised in Argentina. For many years after I moved to this country, (20+ years.   ago), like Sofia, I was at a language disadvantage. This handicap heightened the importance of the written word for me. I read more than ever, in English of course. Every new word and every new phrase I learned was somehow left inscribed in my brain ready to be used as I chose. Call it the machinations of the psyche, but using the language of my newly adopted country became the tool I chose to blend all the languages I knew, all the things I did, all the stories I ever heard, and all the stories I suddenly felt the urge to tell. Sofia goes through a similar process."

"She also works in the entertainment industry which I’ve done on and off through the years."

Jason:                         "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Franzisca's Box"."

Sandra:

"Mystery, betrayal, murder, and passionate love were things Sofia Lazar only experienced as a movie producer. All of that changed after her grandmother’s sudden death when she comes face to face with an unwanted revelation contained in a tattered box. The meager contents take her back to her childhood and the fantastic bedtime stories that Abuela, her grandmother, used to tell her of a heroic warrior girl named Franzisca. Now, two decades later, fragments of Franzisca’s stories creep back into Sofia’s life, tying Franzisca and her grandmother to an unknown past. With the memories of her childhood bedtime stories to guide her, Sofia sets out to piece together her grandmother’s mysterious history leading her to discover the truth behind her life."

"Set against the backdrop of World War II Romania, the immigration of Nazi criminals into South America, the later years of the Military Regime in Argentina during the 1980s, and present-day California, Franzisca’s Box is a story of war that ultimately affects three generations of women who will never find peace until they call for a ceasefire in their own wars and surrender to forgiveness and love."

Jason:                          "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Sandra:

"I have a women’s fiction/ historical fiction manuscript completed, ready to be queried. It’s about a Jewish Polish mafia ring that dealt with white slavery and had its tentacle spreads around the world, mainly in Argentina, Brazil and the US during the 19th and 20th century. Alike all my novels it’s a dual timeline."

"Currently I’m in the midst of writing a time-slip/ historical novel set in present day US/Italy, and 17th century Kingdom of Naples, Italy during the time of the plague. It’s a bittersweet story of broken dreams, a story of love, and self-discovery."

Jason:                              "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way they can buy "Franzisca's Box"?"

Sandra:

"Franzisca’s Box is available in paperback and e-books all across the board online and can be requested at any bookstore worldwide."

"Here are a few links where you can purchase it."

"Sandra Perez Gluschankoff was motivated by her Romanian grandmother to create the character of Claudia Lazar and ultimately write "Franzisca’s Box".   One thing that stands out to me and I definitely appreciate about this great Author is when she said that writing "what she knows" is a must for her when embarking on a writing project.  That is such a great quality to have because her stories will make sense throughout the book.  Her imagination will be creative enough to get you lost in a great story but realistic enough to make perfect sense.  That is the combination for success!  Sandra who was born and raised in Argentina and had a language disadvantage after moving to this country for 20+ years continues to inspire us with her many accomplishments.  Her character Sofia will do the same and leave us inspired to face our goals and dreams 'head on' no matter what!  Click one of the links above and buy "Franzisca's Box"."

Kryssie Fortune "Taken As Theirs" An Interview with Kryssie Fortune by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                KRYSSIE FORTUNE

"Great Authors do certain things that get them to stand out.  They have their own style and their own ideas.  They give their Readers something original and exciting each time because they wake up with a passion to write almost every day.  Even the days they have other things to do their imagination is working in them and is ready for when they pick up the pen again.  Kryssie Fortune is one of those great Authors.  Her original and new ideas keep her readers intrigued every time they pick up her book.  She let us know what motivated her."

Jason:                                  "What motivated you to write Taken as Theirs?"

Kryssie:

"I used to belong to a literary group. We read classics from Moby Dick to Wuthering Heights. In among, we read Margret Atwood’s, A Handmaid’s Tale. I’ve deliberately not watched the TV series because I wanted my ideas to be my own. I imagined a world of Infertile women with very few breeders. Then the what if’s started. What if a disease wiped out most human males? What if vampires, demons, and especially werewolves became the dominant species. Would they treasure their fertile women or would they use them as commodities? That’s when I came up with the plot for Taken as Theirs."

Jason:                                    "What characteristic of Cassie do I you like most, and why?"

Kryssie:

"Cassie’s loyalty shines like a beacon. She’s loyal to her family and her twin werewolf lovers. She wants to be loyal to their pack too, but events get in the way."

Jason:                                       "How do your fans and book lovers describe Taken as Theirs?"

Kryssie:

"The reviews have been amazing, and I’m grateful for everyone who took the time to leave one."

5.0 out of 5 stars The absolute best book!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read!

5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the story and the characters. I would recommend it to others. It hit all the right spots for me.

Jason:                                "Are you working on another book, and if so what can you share with us about it?"

Kryssie:

"I’m currently working on another Regency romance. Like my other two, it’s hot and sensual. It’s an adventure story about a young woman facing impossible odds and a former army captain who lost his leg at Waterloo."

Jason:                                  "For those of us who want to read your book, what’s the easiest way to buy it."

Kryssie:

"It can be read for free if you have Kindle Unlimited. Otherwise it’s available in e-book format through Amazon."

                                                                                  CLOSING

"Kryssie Fortune was motivated when she imagined a world where only a few women can actually give birth.  Humans are almost completely wiped out because of a disease.  Then vampires, demons, and werewolves dominated the world.  Great Authors like Kryssie Fortune make sure to give us something different and something new each time. What I really admire about Kryssie is how she deliberately did not watch a TV series because she wanted her ideas to be her own.  That mindset that she has is a Readers dream.  This new book of Kryssie has so much going on including hot and sensual scenes, battles, and plenty of powerful characters that will keep your imagination locked in every chapter you read.  Click on the link above and buy "Taken As Theirs"."

Diane Byington "Who She Is" An Interview with Diane Byington by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                   DIANE BYINGTON

"Great Authors will write and persevere.  They know that what they create is worth reading.  They have something to share and they write.  And they write.  And they write.  When the dust settles their book is out.  Because great Authors believe in every part of them that the story that they created is going to touch a Reader that was looking for that very same kind of book.  They are the answer to what the Readers and book lovers of the world have been waiting for.  Diane Byington is one of these great Authors.  She let us know what motivated her"

                                                                                                         Jason E. Foss

Jason:                          "What motivated you to write "Who She Is"?"

Diane:

"I wanted to write about a person who had a goal and met it. Simple, huh? Yes, but there had to be obstacles. Who wouldn’t want someone to succeed at running a marathon? Her parents, that’s who. And why? Therein lies the tale of Faye’s family secret. I was researching the idea when I saw the photos of Kathrine Switzer getting assaulted by the race director as she ran the Boston Marathon in 1967 and I wondered what a young woman who saw those photos would think. She would think: “I want to run that race.” And so I had my time period."

Jason:                             "What characteristic of Faye can you relate to the most and why?"

Diane:

"Faye is much braver than I could ever be. Alas, I’m not a runner, but I am determined, just as she is. The book took me eight years to get published. I revised it over and over, and eventually Red Adept Publishing accepted it. I’m happy that I persevered."

Jason:                              "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Who She Is"."

Diane:

"Faye and Francie, both high school students, decide to run the Boston Marathon. Except that the year is 1967 and women weren’t allowed to run the race at that time. They figure they’ll work that out, but first they have to be able to run 26 miles. They start increasing their mileage. One night, after being almost run down by a car, Faye experiences a flashback (or something odd) about a different early life than the one she knows. Is she really remembering something important or is this the product of her epilepsy? She doesn’t know, but she is determined to find out. So, there are two stories woven together: her effort to run the marathon and her struggle to find out the truth about her early years. Faye works hard to figure out who she is, and the answer will change her life forever."

Jason:                               "Are you working on another book and if so what can you share with us about it?"

Diane:

"My next book goes in a different direction, although it has a female protagonist and even more suspense. It’s called “The Second Time Traveler,” and is the story of Kaley, who happens upon some hidden letters written by Nikola Tesla in which he describes his experiments with time travel. She is determined to follow in his footsteps and fix a decision she made in her college years that she has always regretted. Of course, things don’t go as planned! I think of it as “The Time Traveler’s Wife meets the Terminator.” I’m very excited about it. The book will come out later this year. I’m not sure of the date."

Jason:                                "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy "Who She Is"?"

It’s on Kindle Unlimited, so the best place to buy it is on Amazon as an ebook, paperback, or on Kindle Unlimited.

                                                                                         CLOSING

"Diane Byington was motivated when she saw the photos of Kathrine Switzer getting assaulted by the race director as she ran the Boston Marathon in 1967.   Women weren't allowed to race at that time.  The bravery and courage it would take to do it anyway.  That takes perseverance.  My favorite thing about Diane is not just her talent in writing but how she showed her determination in not giving up until 8 years later when her book got published.  If that is not perseverance I don't know what is.  If you want to be inspired.  This is the book to read.  Not only because of the powerful story of two women doing something despite not being allowed to run the race but also because of the Author writing it.  Diane inspires us to never give up.  If you believe in something it will happen but you must keep moving forward until you persevere.  This is the book that will inspire us all. Gemma Lawrence "Blood Of My Blood" An Interview with Gemma Lawrence by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                GEMMA LAWRENCE

"Great Authors are very important to us all.  They give us something that we need when we are looking for encouragement.  They give us a story that can inspire us to be brave in times in life when we are being tested.  For whatever reason they write one thing I notice is their commitment to the Reader that they are giving them their all.  Gemma Lawrence is one of these great Authors.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                                            Jason E. Foss

Jason:                                   "What motivated you to write  "Blood Of My Blood"?"

Gemma:

""Blood of my Blood" is book six in a series on Elizabeth I that I am writing. When I read one-book accounts of the lives of famous women, I felt so much was left out. I therefore decided to do a series of books on women I admired from history. This book is the latest in Elizabeth's story, and I am working on the next, The Spider's Web, at the moment."

Jason:                                    "What characteristic of Elizabeth can you relate to the most and why?"

Gemma:

"To me, Elizabeth is first and foremost a survivor, and that is what I admire the most about her. She faced prejudice, death and danger, and did it all with wit and balance. I'm not sure that is something we have in common, as I can hardly claim to have faced the dangers she has, but I do think my sense of humour helps me out in times of trial."

Jason:                                     "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Blood Of My Blood"."

Gemma:

"Blood of my Blood covers a period of danger for Elizabeth. She is queen, and has been for a decade, but the book opens with the massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve in France, when Catholics rose against their Protestant neighbours, and more than ten thousand people died. Sparked by an assassination, the massacre was a terrible event, and Elizabeth faced the possibility the same might occur in England. Religious stability had been her goal for years, and at this stage her settlement and the peace of her country comes under threat. This is also the time she unleashes Francis Drake upon the world, when the English first properly began to explore the world, and when she faced the greatest challenge of her personal life. An interesting time, indeed!"

Jason:                                      "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Gemma:

"I am always working on another book! My main issue is that I have too many ideas for my hands to write. The next book I have coming out is part of a two-part series on Catherine Howard, fifth wife of Henry VIII. After that will come a fairy-story re-telling, and then will come The Spider's Web. I also have the second part of a fantasy series, Farm Land, coming out this year. I am prolific, but writing is honestly my life."

Jason:                                        "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy "Blood Of My Blood"?"

Gemma:

"The best way to buy my book is through Amazon. The US link is, https://t.co/4ko2jYx6J4 but it can be bought on any platform, if a reader searches for the title, or my name, G. Lawrence"

                                                                                      CLOSING

"Gemma Lawrence was motivated to write about women she admired from history.  She felt that so much was left out from their story.  One of my favorite qualities about great Authors is they always seem to write with a Purpose.  They don't just write just to write.  They have something important behind it.  For Gemma she knows so much about the women in history and she is able to give the Reader not only a great story but she makes sure that she will not leave anything out.  Gemma really gave me a good idea of what to expect from her book when she said 'Writing is honestly her life'.  When you read a Gemma Lawrence book she is going to give you everything she's got.  Click on the Link above and buy "Blood Of My Blood"."

Kat Caulberg "Three Star Island" An Interview with Kat Caulberg by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                    KAT CAULBERG

"Great Authors have so many qualities that keep taking their writing to the next level.  They actually care about their Readers.  They write with Passion and they have a vision that they believe in so much they have to make sure it gets out.  They want to share it with the World!  Some of my favorite kind of Authors are the ones that see everyone do something one way and they take themselves and their creative imagination and they write another way.  They give us something different and it works every time.  Because they believe in it and when someone writes believing in something from their very core the Reader will believe it too.  Kat Caulberg is one of those great Authors.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                                  Jason E. Foss

Jason:                                   "What motivated you to write "Three Star Island"?"

Kat:

"History, first and foremost. I've always been obsessed with history, especially the age of sail. Second, I adore a good love story. So often, history + love story = unhappy ending. I wanted to write a time travel novel that bucked that tradition. And to be honest, I wanted to write a story that would make me happy when I needed a little pick-me-up after it's all said and done. I hope it does the same for my readers."

Jason:                                     "Which character can you relate the most to, and why?"

Kat:

"Penny, definitely. She's my awkwardness in a crowd, my hope for a better tomorrow, and the brave woman I wish I could be when the going gets tough. She and I also share a love of history, and being a little too blunt sometimes."

Jason:                                      "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Three Star Island"."

Kat:

"Three Star Island is a time travel romance set in 1721, on a backwater island off North Carolina's Outer Banks. William Payne is a pirate seeking redemption for his blood-soaked past, and is rescued by outcast Penny Saunders when he washes up on Three Star Island. It's an exciting love story that's got a bit of history, humor, and some ripping good action scenes."

Jason:                                        "What kind of research went into writing a historical romance?"

Kat:

"Lots, from how stockings were tied, to what sort of underwear women wore in 1721, to which words had and hadn't been invented during the period. Not to mention the types of sailing ships which were prevalent during the time, the history of slavery in St. Augustine, Florida, and how slow it took for items such as novels to travel from England to America. It was exhausting and wonderful."

Jason:                                          "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy "Three Star Island?"

Kat:

"There's a link on the front page my webpage (as well as a free excerpt from the novel), and it's available for preorder on Amazon."

                                                                                        CLOSING

"Kat Caulberg was motivated by History.  She has always been obsessed with it.  She adores a good love story and that was her second motivation for writing this well-written novel.  When someone uses the words passion or obsession they are going to write something that they believe in.  They are going to give their Reader something that will keep their attention.  Because not only is Kat obsessed with History but she is brave and creative enough to give us a love story with an ending that you will not know until you read it.  When you are finished reading you will appreciate this Authors care for her Reader and her willingness to give them something new.  Click on the link above and buy "Three Star Island"."

Julia Schmeelk "Gordon's Pride" An Interview with Julia Schmeelk by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                   JULIA SCHMEELK

"Great Authors not only come up with great ideas but they can organize those ideas and they know exactly what to do with it.  They build on it.  Their imagination comes up with even more great ideas.  Next thing they know their ideas become someone's favorite book.  Julia Scmeelk are one of these great Authors that has the ability to take her ideas and her elevated imagination and build a World with it.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                             Jason E. Foss

Jason:                          "What motivated you to write "Gordon's Pride"?"

Julia:

"To start with, Gordon’s Pride is the first of a very long series. After I wrote the first rough draft during the summer of 2012, I knew I had found my “Pern,” a world I could write in for my whole life. For those who are unfamiliar with the fantasy writer Anne McCaffrey, I highly recommend her. She was a world builder, much like I am."

"Anyway I was teaching during the school year, writing during the summer and the story needed a world to fit in and I created it to give Hanna, Gordon, Grabon, and Heron a home."

"It probably sounds backwards, but I started the story with Gordon and Hanna and while the focus is on their relationship, it is also on all the other relationships in the story."

"Gordon and Hanna are human, male and female and the planet connects them with a psychic bond that if they break, twist or harm, it will end up damaging them both or even killing them. The bond links their lives, thoughts, emotions and sensation. Yep, they were matched up as strangers by the planet. Fortunately the same thing had happened to Gordon’s Grandfather, so he had some idea of what to expect, but most humans do not have a strong enough connection to allow that to happen. It just happened that Gordon was enormously strong and connected to the planet."

"Meanwhile the reader meets Gordon’s good friend Heron, a human who is wild, unkempt and travels with a dragon he calls Grabon. Most humans are terrified of the beasts and those who know about Grabon think Heron has tamed him. Gordon realized they have more of a partnership, but he has never actually gotten to interact with the dragon."

"Well everything abruptly shifts and changes once the bond starts growing between Hanna and Gordon, and Grabon becomes fascinated with Hanna. Through this fascination, he reveals his intelligence and abilities and eventually claims the territory including not only Gordon’s farm but the nearby village as well."

"That sets up humans who support the dragon against those who either want to flee or attack. It turns into a lively adventure. All the while Gordon and Hanna are falling in love with one another and Grabon is watching his long time companion reconnect with other humans."

Jason:                              "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?

Julia:

"I am rushing to finish the 7th book in the NewEarth Series featuring Brom, Mox, Grabon, Heron and all the denizens of the Combined Territories. The number of characters has gotten so large that my website has charts available for readers."

Jason:                               "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy "Gordon's Pride"?"

Julia:

"The easiest way to buy the NewEarth Series is to get it off Amazon, https://t.co/SxBRNSKYcY but stop by my website to check out the art and see what mammalian dragons look like and some of the other creatures that inhabit this sentient planet that is so consumed with her people’s lives."

Susan Mary Malone "I Just Came Here To Dance" An Interview with Susan Mary Malone by Jason E. Foss

                                                                               SUSAN MARY MALONE

"Great Authors can take a dream and write about it so well that the Reader feels that it was their own experience.  They use their enhanced imagination in each and every chapter so that it becomes the Readers reality until they put the Novel down and realize it was just a book.  Susan Mary Malone is one of those Great Authors.  She knows what will keep the Reader's attention.  Her unique and creative books are known to keep her Readers satisfied and she refuses to give them anything less.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                               Jason E. Foss

Jason:                "What motivated you to write I Just Came Here To Dance?"

Susan:

"It came to me in a dream—going up the huge hill and then being propelled down the rabbit hole into the quirky town of Sociable, Texas, where nothing is as it seems.  I dreamed the triangle of the town, the big dilapidated coliseum, and the eccentric woman who oversees the place in complete detail."

"I’d been studying myths and fairytales for a while (a passion of mine), with their underlying themes wrapped around a woman’s psyche, and it all just flowed almost faster than I could write it."

Jason:                  "What characteristic of Paula Anne can you relate to the most and why?"

Susan:

"Paula Anne is, like most young women, trying to find her footing. Rather than seeking her own way, she’s chosen the life expected of her—the easy path—which of course leads one right into the unexamined life of far greater perils. Authenticity never crossed her mind—living day to day with a husband and son consumed her.  Until her world got blown smooth apart."

"I knew what that was like!"

"The process of hearing one’s intuition, learning to follow it, finding that internal touchstone, ah, yes, this was something I knew. It’s not a straightforward journey!"

Jason:                    "For your fans and book lovers, briefly describe I Just Came Here to Dance"

Susan:

"Running from a painful reality, Paula Anne falls under the mythological yarns being spun on Diana (known as the White Witch of Sociable) Maclean's porch. There, the lines between storyteller and myth blur as they spring to life. But what does that have to do with her? Surely Paula Anne's own choices aren't to blame for the summer of insanity she spends under the spells of Diana...who is, after all, known as the White Witch of Sociable, Texas."

"A modern allegory, the story waltzes atop the line between the creative and the crazy, the sacred and the maligned. Through myths it weaves together the multi-layers of personal self with that of the collective whole. And finally, Paula Anne and the townsfolk learn the simplest of truths: that the fire's ashes produce wisdom and courage, just as the stories say."

Jason:                       "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Susan:

"I’ve just finished a new novel. In the deep roots of a Texas vineyard, Like Water for Chocolate meets Chocolat (but with wine)."

"Mysterious forces and puppet masters threaten Gwyn with financial ruin as she battles a family plot to seize her award-winning winery. While she and best-friend Ruth struggle to protect Gwyn’s immigrant adopted boy, as well as her vines and livelihood, they must satisfy a sheriff nosing around in her business, ICE agents sipping sweet-tea on her porch (even as they run down immigrant field hands), and magical chicanery springing up at the door. Must she risk the unveiling of long-buried skeletons to keep her dreams alive? Or will family and secrets ruin her life and those she loves?"

"But as the angels accept their legendary share of wine during fermentation, they give in return the most precious gifts—hope, and the strength to fight family in order to save it."

Jason:                         "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy I just Came here to Dance?"

Susan:

"It can be purchased through the publisher, but as with all of life these days, Amazon is the easiest!"

                                                                                  CLOSING

"Susan Mary Malone was motivated by a dream that she had that took place in the town of Sociable Texas.  I love the fact that studying those myths and fairytales with their underlying themes wrapped around a women's psyche are a Passion of hers.  That word Passion is such an important word to look out for.  When someone has a passion for something they usually tend to put their all into it.  The very next thing she said was that everything else just flowed almost faster than she could write it!  That is what makes an amazing book.  She knows Texas.  She knows her main character so well and can relate to her.   The passion she wrote with shows in each page and will keep the Reader glued to this story.  Click on the link above and buy "I Just Came Here To Dance"."
