Melisa Quigley. An Interview with Melisa Quigley by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                  MELISA QUIGLEY

"Great Authors always had a way of creating great stories and bringing their ideas to life.  Before their first Novel they already possess these unique qualities that stand out.  Their love of writing was always there months many times even years before we get the opportunity to read their work.  Melisa Quigley are one of these talented Writers that has those unique qualities.  She has a great website where she is helping others improve their poetry, short stories, and writing skills.  Everything about her site is based on helping others.  She let us know if anything motivates her to write."

                                                                                                 Jason E. Foss

Jason:                                "What motivates you to write?"

Melisa:

"Nothing motivates me to write though once I start something I like to see it through to completion. When I turned 12, I received a diary for Christmas and I’ve been writing in one ever since. I think reading and writing go hand-in-hand and love pen on paper and like all forms of writing."

Jason:                                  "What poem of yours is your favorite and why?"

Melisa:

"I don’t have a favourite poem. I love reading Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath’s poems because they are filled with anguish and turmoil of the human spirit."

Jason:                                  "What advice would you give someone that has Big dreams and wants to be successful?"

Melisa:

"Writing isn’t easy. If anyone says it is don’t believe them. Don’t be in a hurry to publish or let anyone pressure you. Put your manuscript away for three months and then read it again before sending it anywhere or self-publishing. To gain exposure, write a poem, flash fiction, or short story and send your work out to be published in anthologies. I send my work out and have had more rejections than acceptances. Writing isn’t for the faint hearted. You will be rejected as well as accepted but hang in there and never give up. Joining a writing group is invaluable because people will give you feedback about your writing and pick up points that you may not have realized."

Jason:                                   "Are you working on a book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Melisa:

"I’m currently working on my debut novel. It’s about a homosexual boy whose friend disappears and comes back eleven years later. You’ll have to buy the book to find out more about the story when it’s published."

Jason:                                    "For those that would love to read your work what is the easiest way to support your written works and writing talents?"

Melisa:

"I think the best way to support any author’s written work or writing talent is to buy their book and write an honest review."

                                                                                         CLOSING

"Nothing motivates Melisa Quigley to write.  However once she starts writing something she likes to see it through completion.  I appreciate Melisa for her honest answer that nothing motivates her to write.  It opens our mind with the fact that although motivation is very important in a lot of things that we accomplish it is not always the reason behind it.  She has been writing since she was 12 and her Passion for writing has been growing ever since.  It's very exciting to see someone that has made writing a part of her life for so many years finishing up her debut novel.  She has a quality website that is very informative and centers around helping others perfect their craft.  Look out for the future release date of her debut Novel.  In the meantime make sure to check in monthly by clicking the link above to her website.
