V.G. Anderson "The Light In The Sound" An Interview with V.G. Anderson by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                  V.G. ANDERSON

"Great Authors continue to come up with new stories.  Just as original as we are as individuals the same goes for every great Author's vision.  There will always be something that will light the fire in them.  Their new book idea will come alive in their minds and when you read their book it will come alive in yours.  Their passion will give the Reader a story that they will remember for a lifetime.  Because in an Authors mind life has no limitations.  So their stories will make you feel like anything is possible.  So as these books continue to touch our lives all we can do is appreciate how great books will continue to make us feel.  V.G. Anderson is one of these great Authors.  She let us know what motivated her."

Jason:                           "What motivated you to write "The Light in the Sound"?"

V.G. Anderson:

"Back during my undergrad days, I had a creative writing professor who said, “Party stories don’t sell.” For some reason I thought, challenge accepted. Ha. Fortunately, The Light in the Sound ended up becoming so much more."

"Otherwise, I had been writing for about nine years when I wrote The Light in the Sound. Before that, I had always leaned more toward writing middle-grade and YA fiction. The Light in the Sound was my first venture into adult fiction, and I grew a lot as a writer by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone."

Jason:                                "Briefly describe Rachel Richardson and what characteristic of hers you can relate to the most?"

V.G.:

"She never gives up. She’s a survivor. No matter what life throws at her, she takes a moment to “crash,” then picks herself back up, stronger than before, and marches forward determined to succeed—whatever that may mean in any given situation."

Jason:                                   "For your fans and book lovers, briefly describe The Light in the Sound."

V.G.

"It’s a love story, but not in the “conventional” sense. It’s about her learning to love herself, mistakes and all. Rarely do people view us the way we view ourselves, and learning how to navigate those filters and love ourselves, despite the personas inflicted on us, is a message that’s often overlooked in our society and is really what her love story is intended to be about: becoming comfortable in her own skin; not needing anyone else to “complete” her; developing the strength to stay open to finding a companion who loves and accepts her for her, flaws and all."

Jason:                                  "Are you working on another book, and if so, what can you share with us about it?"

V.G.

"I have a few fun new projects in the works. My story collection Neon & Flamingo is being published by Bread & Beauty—the same small publisher as The Light in the Sound, and that will be out in a few months. Then later this year I’m going to be indie publishing two middle-grade reader novels, as well as a nonfiction guide for authors on self-publishing that has a lot to do with my freelance editing and publishing businesses: Night Owl Freelance and Indie Owl Press. And in 2020 I’m releasing a YA Scifi—the first in a series—and a nonfiction essay collection."

Jason:                                     "For those who want to read your book, what is the easiest way for them to buy The Light in the Sound?"

V.G.

"Go to my website vganderson.com. There are links to where it can be purchased from all the top booksellers online: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BAM, IndieBound, etc. It’s also available on Kindle and will be available on all eReader apps in April. But starting on February 13th there will be a 5-day Kindle Countdown deal starting at only 99 cents for download!"

"Links for purchasing can also be found on my twitter page @vandersonauthor where I do a lot of promotions and giveaways, including promoting other authors."

                                                                              CLOSING

"V.G. Anderson was motivated by her creative writing professor who dared to tell her that "Party stories don't sell".  Never underestimate the power of a person that believes that anything is possible.  Even though their may be some impossibilities in life it doesn't mean you have to believe it.  Your imagination can defy logic.  It can break world records.  And in V.G. Anderson's case it can prove that "Party stories can sell".  You just have to believe it can and if you are creative enough you can almost accomplish anything.  My favorite thing about V.G.'s new book is that it is about a love story but an original love story.  It's about 'self love'.  Not in the selfish sense but in a way that you are comfortable being you.   Through all we go through in life's ups and downs V.G. Anderson inspires us that we can overcome all of it and still love the person we are flaws and all.  This book will inspire us all and remind us that to be able to be ourselves no matter what obstacles come our way is a victory in itself.  Click on the link above and buy "The Light In The Sound"."
