BRENDA GUITON
"Great Authors have the ability to make something out of nothing. They can look at a simple rock and people can walk by that rock for years. They can look at that same rock and build a story around it. Not only can they build a story behind it, but the setting, the characters, detail after detail they will take your mind on adventure without lifting a foot. Just grab their book and open it. And after you open it turn to the first page. Then you will see the natural connection your mind and your imagination will have with these words of magic. As the pages turn you will be so glued to the story you won't even realize that you are almost done with their book until you look up and realize how much it made time fly. There are creative minds that know how to take your mind on an Adventure. Brenda Guiton is one of these great Authors. She let us know what motivated her."

Jason: "What motivated you to write ‘Suspicion’?"
Brenda:
"I love the Yorkshire Dales, an area we visited frequently when we lived in the Pennine area of West Yorkshire. It was on one such day, following a walk round the ruins of Bolton Abbey and a stroll along the banks of the river Wharfe, that the idea for my book was born. I was always fascinated by The Strid, a beautiful but dangerous spot where the river is forced through a narrow cleft in the rocks. It suddenly occurred to me what a perfect setting it would be for a mystery and the idea for SUSPICION began to take shape."
Jason: "Which character can you relate to the most and why?"
Brenda:
"The character I can relate to most is the main protagonist, Holly. She is open and straightforward and expects the same in return, particularly from those closest to her. Above all, she is tenacious, so if something doesn’t sit right, she’s not content until she knows the answer."
Jason: "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe ‘Suspicion’."
Brenda:
"The story is primarily about a mysterious disappearance, involving a cold-case that comes to the fore when Holly becomes suspicious and starts delving into the past. It’s prompted by her move to the Dales to live at the heart of her husband’s family business. Only days after her arrival, a series of disturbing events take place and it becomes clear to her that things are not what they seem within the family dynamics."
"Unlike most cold-case scenarios, where the emphasis is placed on the detectives involved and the investigation itself, I decided to take a different approach. The investigation obviously comes into play, but my main focus is on the circumstances surrounding the missing girl prior to her disappearance and its link to the present day. I always try to bring a strong element of surprise into my books because it’s the ‘unpredictable’ in a story that appeals to me most as an avid reader."
Jason: "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"
Brenda:
"A house move and support for my disabled mum has meant that my writing had to be put on hold, but I am now working on the outline plot for my next novel. Some of my ideas are still fermenting, so I don’t want to say too much about it at this stage, except that it will be another stand-alone thriller."
"For me, preparation is all important before I put pen to paper (yes, I use long-hand where my writing flows more easily than sitting at the computer). First and foremost, I need to know my characters inside out and, until I do, they are not allowed to lift a finger or utter a single word! Once this is done, I get the bit firmly between my teeth and then there’s no stopping me. It’s at this point that my dear husband steps into the role of ‘head cook and bottle washer’, not wanting to disrupt the flow. Better still, he has a PhD in English Literature, which means I can count on him for constructive criticism – something we all have to take on board if we are to become better writers."
Jason: "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way to buy ‘Suspicion’?"
Brenda:
"My books are on Amazon, including paperback copies, which can also be purchased from"

CLOSING
"Brenda Guiton was motivated by a walk around the ruins of Bolton Abbey and a stroll along the banks of the river Wharfe. She was always fascinated by The Strid, a beautiful but dangerous spot where the river is forced through a narrow cleft in the rocks. This set a spark to her creative talents and she was able to write an amazing book around it. My favorite thing about Brenda is her emphasis on having a strong element of surprise in her book. This shows her love for her Readers. For her to dedicate her approach on keeping her fans and Readers guessing throughout the entire book shows how important it is to her to give them the ultimate experience. Also, the way she doesn't do a thing until she knows her characters inside and out. That is amazing discipline! Last but not least it is so great to know her husband who is also very talented supports her during the writing process. This is an Author that has only one thought on her mind and that's giving you her very best! Click on ghe link above and buy "Suspicion"."
