Monica Shepard "Higher You Build Them" An Interview with Monica Shepard by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                  MONICA SHEPARD

"There are so many qualities that can give you signs of a great Author.  It's more than just their writing skills.  It's sometimes more than the amount of Passion they have for writing.  Sometimes it's the ones that are writing with a Purpose that ends up being the reason they become or already are great!  One of these amazing Authors that we should really be on the lookout for is Monica Shepard.  Her youtube trailer already left a lasting impression of how much time she puts into her novel.  Any Author that goes the extra mile with amazing trailers and quality book covers and representation brings even more of their energy into the story itself.  Monica Shpard let us know where she got her motivation."

                                                                                                       Jason E. Foss

Jason:        "What motivated you to write "Higher You Build Them"?"

Monica:

"A friend turned me on to contemporary / literary fiction by authors such as Wally Lamb and Khaled Hosseini. I’ve always loved the idea of the tragic hero who struggles with the force of his own fate; in this case, my protagonist finds himself in the position of the “bad guy”, and he only sees one way out of it. Additionally, the “bad guy” here is the source of the real-world opioid crisis that is presently ravaging society, much of which Big Pharma’s off-label marketing of opiates has cultivated. After witnessing the heartbreak and hardships that many friends and loved-ones have endured, it’s a social cause that I feel deserves more attention, and I try to spread awareness through regular Facebook updates. This is a culturally-pervasive issue which should not be stigmatized when the pharmaceutical industry has been such a huge part of the problem."

Jason:               "Briefly describe the character that you can relate to the most and why?"

Monica:

"Overlooking the fact that he’s a corporate-psychopath and kind of a jerk, that would have to be my main character, Eric Kowal. He can be uptight, overly-analytical and suspicious on a nearly-unhealthy level, but his hardened demeanor shields his redeeming qualities. His best friend Adam is a stark contrast: laid-back and possessing a more natural sense of humor. It was far more difficult for me to write Adam, but I like to think I pulled it off."

Jason:               "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Higher You Build Them"."

Monica:

"It’s about a corrupt, unfaithful pharmaceutical-executive who’s out of touch with the realities of his illegal marketing schemes, but he becomes conflicted when the C.E.O. starts pressuring him to market fentanyl off-label. Through other characters, he will soon discover the effects of his fraudulent business-practices."

"Eric suffers from Essential Tremor, and the recent stresses renew his dormant seizures. Unwilling to draw his wife’s attention, he has no choice but to rely on Adam – the co-conspirator he’d only befriended for monetary gain, thereby forcing a closer bond between them and leaving his damaging secrets open to exposure. Consequently, Adam learns that Eric has rigged his own fate to keep from crossing a certain boundary. Amid his attempts to stop him, one final, terrible event will send Eric’s entire world crashing down around him."

Jason:                "Are you working on anything else and if so what can you share with us about it?"

Monica:

"I’ve already started putting a “whistleblower” sequel together. On the side, I’m writing an article for a new holistic magazine describing how mindfulness helped me lose a substantial amount of weight."

Jason:                "When will your novel be available and what's the easiest way for book lovers to buy "Higher You Build Them"?"

Monica:

"My hope is to publish traditionally, so once my editor reviews the manuscript (mid-January through late-February) and I make the necessary edits, I’ll begin seeking representation. In the meantime, the best way to stay updated is by visiting www.MonicaShepard.com and signing up for my mailing list.
Thank you for your interest in Higher You Build Them!"

                                                                               CLOSING

Negeen Papehn "Forbidden By Faith" An Interview with Negeen Papehn by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                   NEGEEN PAPEHN

"Great Authors are all over the world and yet they have something special about them that causes them to stand out.  Could be the main character in their book.  Could be the writing style of the Author.  Could be both!  However these differences make reading so entertaining for us.  With all the different novels out there that provide you with the entertainment or the relaxation you need some of them leave an impact.  An impact that happens when an Author's words are so relatable that you feel like their words are actually meant for you.  Negeen Papehn are one of those great Authors that have the ability to connect with the Reader.  She let us know what motivated her."

                                                                                                       Jason E. Foss

Jason:               "What motivated you to write "Forbidden By Faith"?"

Negeen:

"There aren’t many novels out there with MCs that are first generation Iranian Americans. I wanted to shed light on our culture at an angle that hasn’t yet been viewed, in a way that all readers of any nationality, could relate to. Forbidden by Faith follows Sara on her trials and tribulations as she sets out to find herself, in the pursuit of true love. But it’s more than just a love story. It takes a look at what the strength of familial bonds can endure, the fierce devotion between friends, and when independence can cost you more than you could have ever imagined. My hope is, that readers will identify with that."

Jason:               "Briefly describe Sara, and which of her characteristics you can relate to the most."

Sara is bold in some ways but timid and uncertain in others. She’s indecisive and selfish at times. She’s young, confused, and impressionable. There’s moments when the reader wants to jump into the pages and shake some sense into her, but continuously roots her on and hopes she succeeds.
I’m a firm believer that there are pieces of us as authors in all of our characters. When I created Sara, I pulled from a younger version of myself, the one still trying to find her way, internally struggling with pleasing her parents while still trying to find herself in the process.

Jason:                "For your fans and book lovers, briefly describe “Forbidden by Faith” and the connection between Sara and Maziar."

Negeen:

"Forbidden by Faith is a modern day Romeo and Juliet. Sara is a young, Iranian woman getting ready to start Pharmacy school. She’s not looking for love like most of her friends have been groomed to do. She’s determined and focused on school, and ultimately a career that will leave her independent and self-sufficient. One night, she begrudgingly goes with her best friend to a party where she meets Maziar. He’s tall, dark, and alluring, catching her eye immediately. When he approaches her, she’s dizzy with how strongly she’s drawn to him. But once they get to talking, she finds out he’s Jewish. Sara is Muslim, and in her culture, their love affair is over before it’s even begun. Maziar doesn’t give up easily, though, and despite her better judgment, Sara agrees to see him again.
As time progresses, their connection just deepens, creating a desire as necessary to their survival as breathing. They struggle against their cultural and familial expectations but the love they feel for each other is just too strong and neither can walk away."

Jason:                  "Is there another book you’re working on, and if so, what can you tell us about it?"

Negeen:

"The Forbidden Love series is a three book series. Although, I’m toying with an idea of a fourth.  Book two, Forbidden by Destiny, is currently in the process of publication with City Owl Press. It’s set to launch on February 19,, 2019. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but this story will follow Leyla, Sara’s best friend, and her journey to find true love. All I can say is that a very popular character from Forbidden by Faith will be making a repeat appearance in Forbidden by Destiny.
Book three, Forbidden by Time, is Bita’s story, Maziar’s sister. She has her own struggles while finding her happily-ever-after. It’s currently in the early stages of revisions with my editor and set to launch shortly after book two. No definitive launch date yet."

Jason:                   "For those that want to read your book, what is the easiest way for them to buy “Forbidden by Faith"?”

Negeen:

"Forbidden by Faith is available where most books can be purchased. Here are some buy links to make it easier":

Amazon:  HYPERLINK "http://smarturl.it/FLove1Amz" \t "_blank" http://smarturl.it/FLove1Amz

BN:  HYPERLINK "http://smarturl.it/FLove1BN" \t "_blank" http://smarturl.it/FLove1BN

                                                                                 CLOSING

"Negeen being a first generation Iranian American was motivated by her want to shed light on their culture at an angle that has never been viewed, in a way that all readers of any nationality could relate to.  What is so amazing about this great Author is how open she is about her culture and how she wants to share it with Everyone!  Her book shows us that our differences are our strengths and true love is Universal and breaks down barriers.  This powerful book will touch you as the main character lets the Reader in on her Journey.  As she grows in each chapter the Reader will leave with the lasting impression that true love is worth fighting for, no matter what."

N.M. McGregor "Petals Of Awakening" An Interview with N.M. McGregor by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                 N.M. MCGREGOR

"Great Authors write with a lot of passion.  They brilliantly achieve a juggling act between giving the reader what they want, creating a story that they need, opening their imagination with what they didn't realize they needed, and at the same time entertaining them along the way.  N.M. McGregor is one of those great Authors.  Opening up her book is like entering another world and as each page is turned you are intrigued and looking forward to the next.  She let us know where she gets her motivation."

                                                                                                   Jason E. Foss

Jason:                "What motivated you to write "Petals Of Awakening"?"

N.M.:

"I had originally written a yoga romance, When I sent it out to my beta readers the feedback asked for more back story. I went back to the writing board and created Mary. I wanted to write a contemporary, psychological, romance/thriller that showed the processes of human development when they take the path of self discovery."

Jason:                "Briefly describe Mary and what characteristic of hers can you relate to the most?"

N.M.:

"Mary is highly capable, charismatic, and a total copy cat, she has learned through altercations, and manipulative partners, a persona she feels will bring her everything she ever wanted. To begin with she appears shallow, her willingness changes that through the story. Willingness is what I identify with the most. I believe that if I am willing to learn, to do things right, to get out of my comfort zone, things will eventually work out for me."

Jason:                 "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Petals Of Awakening"."

N.M.:

"Petals of Awakening is about taking the road most traveled and then taking the path least traveled to find out who you really are and what you really want out of life. Mary, is a young woman who seems to have it all. But the choices that led her to her lifestyle path, are lacking. She discovers that life has lost its meaning and she wants answers. She attends a yoga retreat in New York and gets more than she bargained for."

Jason:                  "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

N.M.:

"Currently I am in the final edits of the Montana Series book 3 West End Lass, the final installment in a highly charged romance about Montana Stanford and Adam Northrop, Book two of The Moon Goddess Chronicles, and branching out into a historical fantasy about the knights Templar."

Jason:                  "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way for them to buy "Petals Of Awakening"?"

N.M.:

"Petals of Awakening is now available on most major platforms, for a list of stores, go to:

                                          https://t.co/aZm7xcFoxM or order through https://t.co/oo2s233qL8

                                                                                       CLOSING

"N.M. McGregor was motivated by her beta readers feedback from her original yoga romance book.  After that she created Mary.  That is one of the reasons why I enjoy Authors like her.  The Reader matters.  The way she described "Petals Of Awakening" makes a lot of sense and sounds like a helpful way to live one's life.  Especially when she said her book is about taking the road most traveled and then taking the path least traveled to find out who you really are and what you really want out of life.  That was very deep and great advice to find answers in our own lives.  This is a book that captures your attention at the very beginning keeping your interest until the very end.  Go to the link above and buy "Petals Of Awakening"

Bibiana Krall "Corvus Hall" An Interview with Bibiana Krall by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                     BIBIANA KRALL

"Great Authors know when they have found that 'Idea'.  That 'Spark' of motivation that has touched them in such away that their mind won't let it go.  It's almost as if that 'Idea' was specifically meant for that Author to have.  Because great Authors can fill in the blanks.  They can create life into that 'Idea', 'Interaction', or that ''dream'.  That particular Author is the only one that can convert it into a story.  Their imagination mixed with their real life experiences will make one of the best books of their genre.  Bibiana Krall is one of those great Authors that can write a story the way it was meant to be told.  She let us know where she got her motivation."

                                                                                              Jason E. Foss

Jason:           "What motivated you to write Corvus Hall?"

Bibiana:

"First of all, thank you for your interest Jason! Corvus Hall began as an odd experience I had in Ireland a few years ago. I was in the coastal town of Kilkee on the west coast in search of the place where Charlotte Bronte spent her honeymoon. I came across a little boy who was quite precocious, but he was also extremely odd. For almost two years after that trip I often pondered what everything meant? And why he was so adamant about our personal connection? I guess you could say it haunted me until I wrote it. I have bonus material in the back of the book explaining what happened and how it moved into written word. I knew I had to write it, but I was unsure of how to approach it, due to the nature of the story. I wondered if anyone would accept it at face value, but eventually my curiosity won out and I was compelled to talk about it."

Jason:           "Describe Mary and what characteristic of hers can you relate to the most?"

Bibiana:

"Mary the main character is the kind of friend many of us might all wish to have. She’s loyal and hard working and doesn’t pretend, so you know where you stand and you can always count on her. She also has great taste in music! I love so many things about Mary, but the strongest aspect of her nature is that she suffers from anxiety and the minute she arrives feels like Ireland might not be a good place for her, but she gave her word to her friend Ashlinn to help with her wedding and it’s important… regardless of her own feelings to see things through."

Jason:             "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe Corvus Hall."

Bibiana:

"Corvus Hall is a novella written in vignettes, versus chapters. It’s a bit experimental in form, but it begins with a frightening event when Mary is a freshman in college. Fear takes hold of her and she can’t shake the phobias that attach themselves to her after this moment. It’s very suspenseful and dark, because the story itself is about fear, loss of loved ones and regret.  As I get older I am seeing more of this theme in my daily life and this discussion seems to resonate with people, especially over the holidays."

"Fast forward a few years later and Mary’s best friend Ashlinn has moved to Ireland and scored an incredible job and then the gorgeous fiancée follows close behind."

"Mary is thrilled for her friend and excited when she’s invited to travel to Ireland, not only to be part of this, but also to live permanently in Corvus Hall, a mansion that’s been in the McCarthy family since the 17thth Century."

"She leaps a bit before she looks and realizes almost immediately upon arriving, that she doesn’t fit in with these extremely wealthy people or in this massive, creepy house. The ghosts have been waiting to make contact and when they do… it unleashes a curse buried in the walls."

"Will Mary discover her connection to Corvus Hall before it’s too late?"

"Recent kudos for Corvus Hall, “Krall’s St. James brings to mind Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory, and her writing has a touch of haunting and the unusual in the vein of Neil Gaiman."-Sparks, Amazon Reviewer"

Jason:                  "Are you working on another book and if so what can you share with us about it?"

Bibiana:

"I am working on two projects; The Paradise Garden is a suspense thriller and book #2 in the Sophia Series. It’s (finally) almost ready! I am also tentatively etching out a second book to coincide with Corvus Hall to continue on with the story. That is merely in the planning stages, but I am hopeful there will be enough inspiration to keep it going. Thanks so much for having me as your guest!"

Jason:                  "For those that want to read your book where is the easiest place they can buy Corvus Hall?"

Bibiana:

"Corvus Hall and thirteen additional titles are available worldwide on Amazon in paperback and.

                                                                                  CLOSING

"Bibiana Krall was motivated by a real life experience she had in Ireland a few years ago.  She came across a little boy and she felt he was extremely odd.  After two years she still thought about her interaction with the boy and felt as if it haunted her until she wrote about it.  Some people ignore these kinds of memories and interactions that they have encountered in hope that it would some day just go away.  Some great Authors like Bibiana Krall not only embrace these kinds of experiences but they convert it from their mind into a book.  Detail after detail the Reader will get to experience the feelings that she felt.  Once you open the book you will be able to relive it in your own mind as Bibiana opens your imagination giving you her real life experience with added creativity until the very last page is turned.  Go to the link above and buy "Corvus Hall."

"The Hourglass Elite Author of 2019 Tournament"

"THE HOURGLASS ELITE AUTHOR OF 2019 TOURNAMENT"

"TIA DAY AUTHOR OF 'LUCY'S LEGACY"

"In the month of December I had the honor of Interviewing over 40 of the most creative Authors.  They shared with us their motivation.  They gave us more details about their books and about themselves.  With 2019 right around the corner this fun and inspiring month gave me an idea.  I was already planning to do "The Hourglass Author Of 2019 Tournament" but after getting to know all of these great Authors I decided to give more details on why I am doing this and why it would benefit each Author that chooses to participate."

"Even if you are doing great in book sales and you don't need any more marketing or fans of your books I still believe you should read this blog post with the mind-set of not "Why should I?" but with the mind-set of "Why shouldn't I?"  You will find out that this Tournament for 2019 will allow me to build an entirely different fan base for you.  Anyone that will particiapate I will give you my all in 2019 until the last seconds of 2019 when I find out who will be titled "The Hourglass Elite Author of 2019".

As this month winds down I'm looking forward to the New Year and I'm enjoying the Holiday Season like everybody else.  However, as I got to know these amazing Authors I said to myself, "Why did I not know this?" Then I said to myself "Everyone should be made aware of this!"  I wanted to come up with something that would get people that don't even like to read interested in these great books and talented Authors.  Then it hit me!  Games. Fun.  Getting fans excited about something!

The highest paid sport in the world based on howmuch.net is basketball where each basketball players average salary is 4.9 million.  Let's forget about the money for a moment because great writers write with passion and for the love of writing.  Let's focus on your fans.  If you were part of an Author Tournament where you are going up against a similar Author your fan base will rally around you.  They will feel the same sense of Pride that fans feel in sports right before that big game!  They will feel like a part of something.  A part of their favorite Author's Success!

Playing for the College of Mt. St. Vincent in New York we made it to the NCAA for the first time in our school's history my Freshman and Softmore year.  We couldn't have done it without our fans.  As our basketball season proved we had what it takes we said to ourselves, "what is better then having fans?"  The answer popped in our heads in unison.  "More fans!"  We went to the library, to the soccer team, to the volleyball team, to parents, to people that hated sports.  This is what happened.  We looked up at our basketball stands and it was packed!  Packed with people that never watched basketball before.  Nursing students, teachers, you name it they were there!

Just a little bit about me.  My name is Jason Foss and I'm the Author of the Hourglass.  I just spent a year as a Personal Vacation Planner booking cruises that cost a pretty penny.  Plenty of the cruises I booked were for people that never cruised before.  Some didn't even want to Cruise.  Others were afraid of the ocean.  However they all booked.  When they got back from that vacation they wanted to book again.  Why is that?  Because no one ever bothered reaching out to them.  So I ask you.  Why not? Participate in this Tournament and you will see your fans and new fans get to know your face and your book.  In this Tourmament the great Author is the star Athlete and your Book is the Team.

Join Tia Day author of "Lucy's Legacy', Martha Perez of "In The Dark", and other amazing Authors for 2019 and expand your fan base because there are millions of people out there that don't know your face, your story, or your book, but would be your fan if they knew more.  Anyone that chooses to participate will get the following:

* NONSTOP PROMOTION OF YOUR FACE AND BOOK AND INTERVIEW.

*CONSTANTLY COMPARED TO ANY AUTHOR SIMILAR TO YOU IN POINTS KEEPING YOUR FANS ENGAGED IN YOUR SUCCESS!!

S.D. Mayes "Letters To The Pianist" An Interview with S.D. Mayes by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                          S.D. MAYES

"Great Authors have many qualities but they have something that stands out about them.  This ability has to do with 'words' and 'ideas'.  If you read words in a text book or a manual for a television that's a classic example of how 'words are sometimes just something to be read'.  Same thing with ideas.  Someone has a great idea and that idea comes and goes.  A Great Author takes words and breathes life into each set of words until a brilliant story is born.  If they have an idea they will take that idea and build a world around it!  They will find characters and create a story from that idea and make a book out of it.  That idea will come alive every time their book is opened.  S.D. Mayes is one of these great Authors that can take words and ideas and bring them to life.  She let us know where she gets her motivation."

                                                                                                              Jason E. Foss

Jason:           "What motivated you to write "Letters To The Pianist"?"

S.D.:

"I was inspired by an idea that flashed into my mind six years ago, about a Jewish man in WWII who ended up marrying into a family of Nazi sympathisers. I always thought that would be terrifying.  But it was only when I read some of my mother’s memoires after she died that I knew I should start writing this story. She described the bombing of her family home in the London blitz and how her parents were killed instantly, and that she and her siblings were parcelled out to relatives. That gave me a window into the devastation and atmosphere of WWII. Once I’d created the storyline and characters, I fell in love with the Goldberg family in the story and wanted to discover what happened to them."

Jason:         "Describe Ruth Goldberg and what characteristic of hers can you relate to the most?"

S.D.:

"In short for a visual image, Ruth Goldberg is a spotty and overweight teenager with long dark hair. Like many teenagers, she has no confidence in herself and thinks she’s ugly compared to her two younger more beautiful siblings. But she does have a rebellious and feisty streak in her character.  The character of Ruth was named after and inspired by my mother in terms of looks and personality, as my mother was certainly the black sheep of her family.  That feisty rebelliousness is something I have inherited and definitely relate to in Ruth’s character. But who wants to follow the status quo"

Jason:            "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Letters To The Pianist"."

S.D.

"It’s a complex story, so I shall have to add the blurb":

"In war torn London, 1941, fourteen-year-old Ruth Goldberg and her two younger siblings, Gabi and Hannah, survive the terrifying bombing of their family home. They believe their parents are dead, their bodies buried underneath the burnt remains – but unbeknownst to them, their father, Joe, survives and is taken to the hospital with amnesia."

"Four years on, Ruth stumbles across a newspaper photo of a celebrated pianist and is struck by the resemblance to her father. Desperate for evidence she sends him a letter, and as the pianist’s dormant memories emerge, his past unravels, revealing his true identity – as her beloved father, Joe. Ruth sets out to meet him, only to find herself plunged into an aristocratic world of sinister dark secrets."

"Can she help him escape and find a way to stay alive?"

Jason:              "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

S.D.:

"Yes, I’m working on a thriller called, ‘The Lodger’ which is about a single mother who takes in a house guest through Air bnb. She falls in love with him but he’s not what she thinks, and could destroy her entire life, and her sanity. (PS A Lodger is what we’d call a paying house guest in the UK.)"

Jason:              "For those that want to read your book where is the easiest place to buy "Letters To The Pianist"?"

S.D.:

"My book is sold through Waterstones, and Barnes and Noble etc, but the fastest way to get it is through Amazon."

                          https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074P5TTSH

                                                                              CLOSING

"S.D. Mayes was motivated by an idea about a Jewish man in WWII who ended up marrying into a family of Nazi sympathizers.  Her main character Ruth was inspired by her mom in terms of her looks and personality.  This all sets up for an amazing story that S.D. Mayes brings to life.  With Ruth being a survivor for four years alongside her two younger siblings only to find out that her father may still be alive.  After being through so much Ruth decides not to just 'move on'.  Usually you hear stories of parents in a journey to save their child from harm.  S.D. Mayes brilliantly creates a story of a child with feist rebellously doing what she has to do to get her father back!  This book comes alive each time it's opened giving the Reader that feeling that some things in life are always worth fighting for.  Go to the link above and buy "Letters To The Pianist".

Tracy Shawn "The Grace Of Crows" An Interview with Tracy Shawn by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                      TRACY SHAWN

"Great Authors are all unique in their own way.  They write amazing books that touch the lives of so many people.  Whether it is a story that makes someone want to fall in love again or one that gives the Reader hope with something they are going through in their own life, it is safe to say Great Authors leave an impact on our every day Journeys.  Tracy Shawn is one of those Great Authors that not only writes with heart but she gives the Reader 'fight', 'courage', and this much needed feeling that they 'are not alone'.  To write with that kind of compassion is a talent that touches the Reader's life even months after her book is closed.  Tracy Shawn let us know where she gets her motivation."

                                                                                                                   Jason E. Foss

Jason:                    "What motivated you to write "The Grace Of Crows"?"

Tracy:

"At the height of my own long-term battle with anxiety, I couldn’t stop thinking about a long-lost friend from childhood. Then one day I found myself crying, thinking back about how vulnerable this boy had been beneath his surfer-tough bravado. I called a friend who still lived in our hometown; she told me that she had just seen him the previous week and to her astonishment that “quiet surfer boy had turned into a deranged homeless man.” She never saw nor heard about him again—and neither did anyone else I knew. But he stayed with me. For so long, anxiety had caused me to feel like an outsider to my own life and happiness—and now I knew that my old friend was not only an outsider to his own sanity, but also to the whole of society. So when I set out to write this novel, there was no question that I had to include a fictitious characterization of him in Saylor’s journey. For what are stories if they do not make real life more meaningful?"

Jason:                    "Briefly describe Saylor Crawmore and which characteristic of hers can you relate to the most?"

Tracy:

"The protagonist Saylor Crawmore is a woman struggling with severe anxiety, who is determined to heal for both the sake of herself and her family. Although she’s anxious and depressed, she’s also loving and hopeful. As the author, I can relate to all of Saylor’s traits!"

Jason:                     "For your fans and those that want to read your book briefly describe "The Grace Of Crows"

Tracy:

"Set in the fictional California communities of Breakers Point and Dune Beach, Saylor fights her debilitating anxiety while trying to contend with her mother’s blind narcissism, growing concerns for her teenage children, and her husband’s need to pretend that everything is okay. After she reconnects with her childhood friend, Billy, homeless and alone since his teens, Saylor is able set out on a journey in which she gains insight into her strange fears, gathers the strength to overcome them, and summons the courage to find help for her family."

Jason:                      "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Tracy:

"I have recently finished my second novel, “The Girl from the Edge of the Ocean,” (working title) after many, many—and I mean many (!) revisions.  It’s about a woman who has been afflicted by premonitions her whole life and now questions if the increasingly bizarre phenomena she’s been experiencing means that she’s inherited her mother’s schizophrenia."

Jason:                     "For those that want to read your book what is the easiest way for them to buy "The Grace Of Crows"?

Tracy:

"If you’re interested in purchasing “The Grace of Crows,” please go to either Amazon or Barnes and Noble and type in “The Grace of Crows” or Tracy Shawn in the search bar. And…if anyone would like to contact me (book club guest? blog interview? reader questions?), please feel free to fill out my contact page via my website at: https://t.co/Q9XpHWsUfJ Thank you!

"Tracy Shawn was motivated by the thought of her long-lost childhood friend.   He had a surfer-tough bravado but she later found out that he became a deranged homeless man.  One thing that really stands out about this Great Author's character is even though she was at the height of her own long-term battle with anxiety her focus and tears were for her friend and what he must have been going through.  We all go through a lot in our lives and we face our own situations.  Whether it is chasing our dreams or trying to stay positive when things are not so great Tracy reminds you that you are not alone.  Not only are other people fighting their own battles but her book gives us hope that we can overcome them.  Tracy Shawn and this powerful book makes the Reader feel the courage that  we can win even in our own life's Journey one day at a time.  Go to the link above and buy "The Grace Of Crows".

Amy Caudill "Virtual" An Interview with Amy Caudill by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                       AMY CAUDILL

"There is almost nothing that can stop a great Author once they wrap their mind around a great idea.  Their great Idea.  Once they get locked in on that amazing main character it's only a matter of time before their imagination breathes life into an original book.  Some people will just talk about that idea to a friend and nothing will come to fruition.  A great Author will build a world around that main character and won't stop until the very last page is done.  Amy Caudill is one of these great Authors and she tells us where she gets her motivation."

                                                                                                    Jason E. Foss

Jason:         "What motivated you to write "Virtual"?"

Amy:

"I first had the idea for the plot of Virtual: Can you be sure what's real? nearly a decade ago.  I have always loved science fiction and action stories, especially those containing strong, female characters, and decided I needed to create a character that I could relate to.  My vision for this character became Amanda Conner, who also goes by the avatar "Leslie Storm" when she goes into the Virtual world."

Jason:          "Briefly describe the character Amanda Connor and what characteristic of hers can you relate to most?"

Amy:

"Amanda is much like me; in fact a lot of her characteristics are somewhat based on my own personality.  I, like Amanda, tend to be quiet and very often avoid confrontations.  The avatar that she creates allows her to let out a more assertive, more adventurous personality than she would typically show the world.  We both have similar "day jobs" too!"

Jason:             "For your fans and book lovers briefly describe "Virtual".

Amy:

"The plot of Virtual centers around Amanda, a typical overworked suburban working mother.  Her time is divided between caring for her family and a job that is comfortable but unfulfilling.  To spend a little quality time with her husband, Pete, and add a little fun into her life, she signs up to help beta test the new game he is helping create, called Virtual World.  Inside this game, as Leslie, Amanda can become anything, do anything she wants; which naturally is amazingly freeing for her.  Unfortunately, Pete becomes a victim in a plot that bleeds virtual action into reality, and Amanda must draw on Leslie's bravery to save him, and help stop a real-life villain."

Jason:              "Are you working on another book and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Amy:

I am currently, slowly, working on a sequel to Virtual, which doesn't have a title just yet.  The sequel picks up a few months after the events of the first book, when the company Pete works for is getting ready to go public with the now bug-free Virtual game.  Naturally, Amanda is back and highly involved in the action, both in real and "virtual" life.

Jason:               "For those that want to read your book where is the easiest place they can buy "Virtual"?"

Amy:

"For those who would like to pick up a copy of "Virtual: Can you be sure what's real?" it is available as an e-book on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited at https://goo.gl/jphMpW."

                                                                           CLOSING

"Amy Caudill was motivated to write "Virtual" by her love of science fiction and action stories nearly a decade ago.  Especially the stories with strong  female characters.  "Leslie Storm" definitely falls in the strong female character category.  This great Author has a lot of the same characteristics which makes Amanda Connor so believable throughout the book.  In reality there are many people that want to break up some of the monotonous and try something new and exciting in their lives.  This makes the character Amanda very relatable for the Reader as each page is turned.  Go to the link above and buy "Virtual" by Amy Caudill."

Nicole Sorrell "The Art Of Going Home" An Interview with Nicole Sorrell by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                 NICOLE SORRELL

"Each Author's Journey is slightly different from the next or sometimes completely different.  However one thing that seems to be evident is it was a Process.  Somewhere in their life they realized they had a passion for writing.  When you read their books you realize that their talent matches their passion.  An idea is born.  Their creative mind puts that idea on paper and builds a story around it.  They develop the perfect characters and a story that captivates Readers all over the World.  Nicole Sorrell are one of these great Authors.  She let us know where she got her motivation from."

                                                                                                    Jason E. Foss

Jason:           "What motivated you to write "The Art of Going Home"?"

Nicole:

"It’s difficult to explain why I feel writing is a requirement for me. I think the need to hear stories is part of being human. Whether they’re small anecdotes on the radio, sit-coms on TV or hearing about the kind of day someone had, we crave narratives. They help us build empathy—a trait that’s vital in our complex society."

"I’ve always loved reading. As a pre-teen and teenager, I couldn’t get enough. And since I was a teenager, I wanted to write. I hoped to give others that unique sense of elated fulfillment I got after finishing a wonderful book. The challenge I had to overcome was plot construction. In hindsight, I understand I needed more life experience to create believable characters and compelling situations to put them in. So instead of novels, for many years I wrote and published poetry. It captured a sentiment or a moment in shorter forms."

"A few years ago, this idea struck me. What if a twin was murdered as a child, and the surviving girl was never told what happened? The mystery of her sister’s unsolved murder could have profound and detrimental effects on her life, even after she grew up and moved away from her home town. She never wants to return, but after a decade she can’t avoid going back. How will she manage, remembering the horror of her twin’s death?"

"The idea for The Art of Going Home was born. It became Book 1 of The Art of Living series."

Jason:             "Describe Madisen and can you relate to this character? If so, what characteristic of hers can you relate to most?"

Nicole:

“Write what you know,” is a piece of advice we hear a lot. Authors must draw from personal events and hardships to make their story authentic, whether the scenarios are fictional or real. My main character Madisen, also known as Maddie, is placed in imaginary circumstances, but reacts to them much as I would to actual ones. This allows me to see inside her emotions and where they come from so I can write them effectively."

"I can relate most to Maddie’s sensitivity. It gives her a great amount of empathy. It also means she’s easily wounded and sometimes conceals her pain behind anger. Her determination, the flipside of stubbornness, means she won’t give up once she decides to do something, even if it’s risky. Her insecurity about relationships causes problems, yet she gives herself completely once she makes a commitment. She understands that seeking revenge against bullies often will escalate the conflict, but she will stand up for those who are unable to defend themselves."

"I sought to create an honest personality that readers can relate to, a character whose behavior isn’t perfect one hundred percent of the time. Maddie has flaws, but she’s genuine."

Jason:                 "Can you describe the connection between Madisen and Zacarias? Also, for those that want to read your great book, briefly describe what "The Art of Going Home" is about."

Nicole:

"The book begins with Maddie’s arrival at the airport. She’s surprised to find Zac has come to meet her and drive her home."

"The connection between Maddie and Zac is due to their history. They grew up in the same town in the Midwest, one so small everyone knew everybody. When Maddie’s sister was killed after their tenth birthday, her mother couldn’t handle it. Her parent’s neglect sometimes ran to abuse. Maddie was informally “adopted,” so to speak, by Zac’s aunt, becoming part of his extended family."

"They gave Maddie love and emotional support, and Zac was there to help her during tough times. Being close, he had greater insight into what she was going through. In the series, the reader gets to see him devise a plan so she will fit in at school after he’s graduated (he’s three years older) so she can make it on her own."

"She’d always had a crush on him. Yet, when he invited her to a school dance, she brushed him off, thinking his aunt had put him up to it."

"Now years later, on her visit home, she discovers he really did have romantic feelings for her. And still does."

"I added the spicy romance to the book because it illustrates how she evolves emotionally. Their developing physical intimacy reflects her growth in learning to accept his love. It’s a difficult journey, and she makes mistakes. But Zac is her rock. Understanding her childhood gives him patience. He’s loyal to her because he knows she’s a courageous person who’s already conquered many adversities life has thrown at her. It works both ways. When he reveals he’s struggling with an issue because of past trauma, she is understanding."

Jason:                   "Are you working on another book and if so, what can you tell us about it?"

Nicole:

"Yes, I’m currently working on another novel. It’s a departure from the contemporary setting of The Art of Living series."

"It’s titled Blood Serenade. The story’s protagonist is a young woman named Serenade, and its set several hundred years in the future."

"Serenade, who prefers to be called Sara, comes from a long line of talented singers. However, her voice is not where her ability lies. Her gift is much more uncommon. Using touch, she senses the life force of people who are sick or injured, sometimes being pulled into their memories. And she has the supernatural power to heal."

"Sara doesn’t want the responsibility of this bizarre gift, even after she unconsciously uses it to save the life of an injured stranger named Lake."

"Lake can’t figure out the inexplicable attraction he feels for Sara. But he does know she’s fallen for him as well. While he’d like to protect Sara from the danger threatening her life, Lake has to guard his own secrets. As soon as his broken bones are healed, he’ll be moving on. And by the gods, when he leaves he’s not taking Sara with him."

"Writing this book, I came to love the characters as they laugh and cry, love and hate, take revenge and seek forgiveness. Blood Serenade is romantic women’s fiction everyone will enjoy."

Jason:                     "For those that want to read your book, what is the easiest way they can buy "The Art of Going Home?"

"Nicole was motivated by a great idea of a Twin never being told what happened to her sister as a child.  Having to grow up and live life without her must have lasting effects on her.  Amazing how an Author puts the Reader first even at a young age.  As a teenager she already cared about giving the Reader a positive experience at the end of her book.  She selflessly chose poetry over novels at first to build more life experiences.  These are the qualities that many Great Authors have.  It's not about them.  It's about bringing a story to life and giving the Reader all that they have until the very last word is written.  Go to www.nicolesorrell.com and buy "The Art Of Going Home."

Jennifer Irwin "A Dress The Color Of The Sky" An Interview with Jennifer Irwin by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                    JENNIFER IRWIN

"Great Authors are some of the most creative people on this earth.  They write with passion.  Many of them write about what they can relate to or what many Readers can relate to.  They build a story so well written and so descriptive that the Reader is seeing the story in their head as if they are watching a movie.  They can literally make someone who usually learns by listening to feel like they are more of a visual person.  Jennifer Irwin is one of these Great Authors that can capture a Reader's interest from the very first page.  She lets us know where she got her motivation."

                                                                                                        Jason E. Foss

Jason:                   "What motivated you to write "A Dress The Color Of The Sky”?"

Jennifer:

"I started writing "A Dress The Color Of The Sky" when I was going through a divorce and had a sense of failing at something important in my life. I wrote in the evenings while teaching Pilates full time and raising my three boys. Writing made me feel better!"

Jason:                  "Describe the character Prudence and what is your favorite characteristic about her?"

Jennifer:

"Prudence Aldrich is a survivor. She has endured horrific childhood trauma, and as a result, views herself as a victim. Although Prudence is poorly behaved in various parts of the story, she is likable, and wants to do better.  As she peels the onion layers in rehab, we see a kind and resilient character who genuinely cares about the other people in rehab. Even though Prue has bad behavior, the reader roots for her because they understand the depth of what she has endured."

Jason:                   "For your fans and people that want to read this original and well written book, briefly describe what "A Dress The Color Of The Sky" is about?"

Jennifer:

"The story is about a woman who has been married to an uncaring man for many years and lived on “love crumbs.” To fill the void in her heart, she seeks out sexual relations with other men. Her therapist advises her to check into rehab to deal with her dangerous behavior and face the demons of her past. Prue yearns to mend her relationship with Nick when she begins her five week stint at Serenity Hills. In rehab, she makes some startling discoveries about her past. With the help of her therapist and the others in her group, she sees the person behind the pain. Once Prue begins to heal, she realizes she may not want Nick back after all. This is a story about the resilience of the human spirit and how our past doesn’t have to define our future. Prudence represents many women and men who have endured childhood trauma and survived sexual assault. She is a voice for those who are facing the darkness head on and seeing the light on the other side."

Jason:                      "Do you have another book in the works and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Jennifer:

"Yes, I’m thrilled to announce that I have submitted the first draft of the stand-alone sequel to Dress called, A Dress the Color of the Moon. The book should be released in the new year. This will be the second in a trilogy. In the sequel, the reader follows Prudence as she starts her new life after recovery. The characters from rehab are woven into the story as the group reconvenes for Gloria’s funeral. Gloria commits suicide while in rehab in my first novel. Prue also has to deal with her love interests, Nick, Alistair, and her therapist from rehab, Mike. There are some startling twists in the sequel in which I weave many of the characters from the first book into the second with far more back story about who they are and what motivates them. One thing I learned from visiting a lot of book clubs is that my readers want to know more about everyone and I'm giving them what they want!"

Jason:                        "For Book Lovers that want to read your book what is the easiest way for them to buy "A Dress The Color Of The Sky"?"

Jennifer:

"They can find my book on Amazon, Indie Bound, Powells, Barnes & Noble (online), and Books-A-Million. The book is available in hardcover, paperback, and Ebook. I will be releasing the audio book in the new year."

                                                                             CLOSING

"Jennifer Irwin was motivated to write this amazing book while she was going through a divorce because writing made her feel better.  There are so many emotions that people that are going through a divorce has to deal with.  She felt a sense of failing at something important in her life.  What really stands out about this Great Author is her ability to juggle so many things at once.  How can someone raise three boys, work full time, and still write with so much passion.  This book is 'movie worthy' because the story of Prudence Aldrich relates to so many in a time where Inspiration is needed the most.  Go to Amazon.com and buy "A Dress The Color Of The Sky."

Lisa Diaz Meyer "All Roads Home" An Interview with Lisa Diaz Meyer by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                    LISA DIAZ MEYER

"There are many great Authors and great books in this world.  However each of these Authors bring something unique for the reader.  Why is this?  While there can be more than one answer it is safe to say that great Authors do not try to imitate what has already been done.  Instead they bring something new for the Reader.  'Write like this'.  'You can't write in this format'.  'A chapter should be this long or this short'.  A great Author would handle statements like that with a simple "Says who?"  They are not afraid to be different.  They understand that rules in writing can sometimes put limitations on your imagination.  Lisa Diaz Meyer is one of these great Authors that write how she wants giving the Reader stories without limitations.  Lisa lets us know where she gets her motivation."

                                                                                                         Jason E. Foss

Jason:        "What motivated you to write "All Roads Home"?"

Lisa:

"My motivation is creativity. There were so many subjects, genres and controversies that I wanted to address - but not in the usual way. I wanted to use prose and fact-through-fiction storytelling, to make the reader feel, not just read in a small amount of time."

Jason:          "You write short stories so well and you have such great reviews.  When did you develop this Passion for writing?"

Lisa:

"My love of books and storytelling goes back into my very early childhood where I could typically be seen reading or writing anytime day or night. Writing has always been my passion and my companion."

Jason:           "For your fans and those that want to read your book briefly describe "All Roads Home"."

Lisa:

""ALL ROADS HOME", my first book, is a compilation of multi genre short stories and poems that I’ve written throughout different periods of my life. The newer of the stories is the Outpost series, a post apocalyptic drama that runs through the first part of all of my books. At the end, I decided to take five of my short stories and adapt them into one act stage plays.

Jason:             "Do you have any books in the works and if so what can you tell us about it?"

Lisa:
"I do have a fourth book in the works, in my “All Roads” fashion; dark fiction short stories and poems, including an Outpost extension and a part II to the People of Gods, a dystopian short story that I’d started in my third book, All Roads Shattered. I will continue on with, lovable or hateful characters that are addicting and tragic."

Jason:            "For those that want to read your book where is the easiest place they can buy "All Roads Home"?"

Lisa:

" All of my books can be found on Amazon and Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble, Outskirtspress.com and many more. The links can be easily found on my website lisadiazmeyer.com . "
