Linda Lingle "Dear Heart" An Interview with Linda Lingle by Jason E. Foss

                                                                                       LINDA LINGLE

"There are so many great writers out there that can really take you into a whole new place.  No matter what you're going through you can get lost into their words.  I like to look for some of my Favorites to see what motivated them to write such an original story.  Linda Lingle is one of those Authors.  She was nice enough to answer a few questions for us to find out what motivated her to write such a great story."

                                                                                                                   Jason E. Foss

Jason:               "What motivated you to write "Dear Heart"?"

Linda:

"I awoke on the morning of my fortieth wedding anniversary thinking about all of the ups and downs my husband and I had survived, and about how love had changed for us as we weathered the bad times and the challenges of day-to-day living. Then, I began to wonder how life would have been if romantic love had lasted forever. The next thing I knew, I was sitting at my lap top, writing the first chapter of Dear Heart."

Jason:                "Deirdre and Lee sound like they have a lot of chemistry.  In this passionate affair, how much is lust and how much is love?  Or do you feel they have the perfect balance of both?"

Linda:

"That’s a great question, Jason.   There’s no doubt that Deirdre and Lee’s relationship is grounded in lust.   They feel an immediate sexual attraction when they meet and risk everything to act on it.   But love grows out of that relationship very quickly.   And it is both their deep love, and the memory of their ardent sexual encounters, that enables them to sustain their relationship throughout their forty-year separation.   Interestingly, Dear Heart, as narrated by Deirdre, focuses on the physical relationship, but Sweet Heart, as narrated by Lee, focuses more on the emotional connection.  I didn’t plan it that way, but that’s how it worked out."

Jason:                "You and Lumen 5 do an amazing job of creating a visual of your wonderful book.  After seeing these videos I immediately saw the possibility of the "Big Screen" or even a "Hallmark" movie.  Is that an interest of yours?"

Linda:

"First, let me thank you for letting me know that the trailers for Dear Heart & Sweet Heart accomplished what I hoped they would.  I wanted the viewer to get a sense of seeing the story unfold on a movie screen.   As for your question, oh yeah, I am obsessed with seeing Dear Heart come to life on a movie screen.   Somewhere along the line as I was writing Dear Heart, I began to see it as a movie, but I knew that the story had to be fleshed out to be successful on the screen, which is why I wrote Sweet Heart.  Now that both parts of the story have been published, I’m focusing most of my attention on trying to interest a producer in the story.   I considered Hallmark early on, but there’s too much sexual content in the story for Hallmark, and you can’t tone it down because Deirdre and Lee’s relationship was built on their affair."

Jason:                "Do you have another book in the works?  And if so, what can you share about it with us?"

Linda:

"I’m working on a book called Interoffice Romance, about a young man who falls in love with his boss.  The story is told through a series of emails, text messages and memoranda, which I thought was a great idea when I started, but it’s proven to be something of a challenge to incorporate the secondary characters into the story, so I’m trying to work that out."

Jason:               "For someone who wants to buy this incredible book, where is the easiest place they can buy 'Dear Heart'?"

Linda:

"Both Dear Heart and Sweet Heart are available on AMAZON.

                                                                            CLOSING

"On the morning of Linda's 40th Wedding Anniversary she found the motivation to create an original love story.  She thought of all the challenges her marriage was able to withstand.  Even though her marriage proved to be Superior to any of the not so great times she was able to create a beautiful story that I believe is easily 'Movie Worthy'.  When you get a moment go to Amazon.com and buy "Dear Heart" and enjoy a great love story.  Also check out Linda's links especially the video from Linda and Lumen 5 that can give you a visual of Deirdre and Lee before you even open the book."
