MARLENE HAUSER
"Great Authors have this ability to have an impact on the reader. Pages are turned and the main character's journey becomes your own. Chapters are finished and you question the character's choices. You finish the book and in the end it all makes sense. Marlene Hauser is one of those great Authors with the ability to develop a well written story that as the characters grow the readers felt themselves grow right along side them. Marlene let us know what motivated her."
Jason E. Foss
Jason: "What motivated you to write "Off Island"?"
Marlene:
"I wanted to give voice to the experience of those who whispered “ouch” after having had an abortion, but feared saying so aloud would lose them the right to choose."
Jason: "Krista Bourne sounds like such a brave and inspiring character to walk away from wealth and stability and she shows her independence by dealing with some difficult situations on her own. What do you like most about Krista and if there is one characteristic of Krista that you feel that you have what would it be?
Marlene:
"I love Krista’s willingness to change course, and even to let go of things that may have kept her from leading a rich and full life, especially with the person she loves. The characteristic I most have in common with Krista is often having to do things my own way, only to find I actually had it wrong."
Jason: " For your fans and book lovers that would love to read "Off-Island", briefly describe this powerful book."
Marlene:
“Off-Island” is about healing, the right to choose and love. It is about a young woman who was sure she had it right, only to discover things weren’t quite what they seemed, and when she saw her own fate about to replicate that of her grandmother’s fate, she made other choices—probably choices her beloved grandmother would have approved."
Jason: "Do you have another book in the works and If so what can you tell us about it?"
Marlene:
"While promoting “Off-Island,” I am in the process of submitting my next novel “Juicy Fruit” to agents and at the same time exploring self-publishing. This book is about a young woman’s survival, primarily emotional survival in a tumultuous childhood. I am also writing a fourth draft of “The Poetry of Life” and enjoying every minute of it! This book is about the joyful road to motherhood, wherever it may take you."

CLOSING
"Marlene was motivated to write this powerful book because she wanted to be the 'voice' that many women are fearful of speaking too loudly about. The right to choose is so important and this book touches on that topic. Her character shows the reader that no matter how long you have been living your life a certain way you can always change your mind. You can always make changes in your life. Go to marlenehauser.com and buy "Off-Island"."
